About SafeHaven

Rooted in experience. Driven by purpose.

SafeHaven Psychology Services was founded on the conviction that with the right support, people can prepare for and move through adversity not merely intact, but stronger — more resilient, more self-aware, and better equipped for what comes next.

Our founding story

Born from experience. Shaped by necessity.

Founded in 2014 by Charlotte Copeland, our mission has been to transform how organisations (1) prepare their people for working in dynamic, high-stress environments and (2) respond to the psychological needs after critical incidents. Today SafeHaven supports organisations with personnel around the globe, helping prepare people for challenging work environments, to thrive under extreme pressure and uncertainty, and respond and recover after crises and disaster.

We built SafeHaven not only as a reactive service, but also as a proactive, specialist partner — one that understands the culture, the language, and the operational realities of the people we work with.

Every element of our practice — from our PREPARE•PROTECT•RESPOND•RECOVER framework to the way we engage with organisations — reflects that founding purpose: to provide genuinely effective, trauma-informed psychological education and support to those who need it most.

Our mission

To provide specialist, trauma-informed psychological support that enables individuals and organisations to prepare for, withstand, and recover from the psychological demands of high-exposure work.

Specialist expertise

We work exclusively with high-exposure populations. This focus means our practitioners understand your world — not just the clinical literature.

Trauma-informed practice

Everything we do is grounded in a deep understanding of stress, duress and trauma — how it manifests, how it compounds, and how it can be addressed effectively.

Organisational partnership

We work alongside organisations, not just individuals. Sustainable psychological health requires systemic as well as individual intervention.

Confidentiality and trust

Our work depends on trust. We maintain rigorous confidentiality standards and operate with complete discretion at every level.

The team

Specialist practitioners. Real-world experience.

Our clinical team combines advanced psychological training with direct experience in the environments our clients operate in.
